Our Story

Smoke and Fire was established in Lincolnshire by Mark Aldridge as a small workshop dedicated to making handmade wall tiles. In 2000, it moved to a large converted granary in Darsham, Suffolk where the showroom and workshop are located today.

Mark and his team are first and foremost artists making tiles and producing exquisite works of ceramic art using contemporary design techniques as well as traditional methods.

All three of Mark’s sons are artists. Boris, a ceramist and painter Christian both have studios at Smoke and Fire.
